Christmas Newsletter

Well it’s been a very patchy week for walking as the icy weather has taken its toll on NW Saddleworth walks. Whilst we try to keep going in bad weather, ice is a no-brainer when it comes to Nordic Walking and we do our best to protect our members from injury. So sorry if it seems over-cautious sometimes.

Of course, a lot of us are still buzzing from the Santa Dash which was such a great occasion. Fabulous that we were given our own start and had the High Street to ourselves as we sang Jingle Bells proudly. Lots of photos of us on Social Media – the one that Aerial Focus has used as its new cover photo is particularly good and we are trying to secure some copies.

We have a lovely Christmas walk from Caroline’s at 10 am on 27th December followed by light refreshments. Good chance to stretch your legs, get some fresh air and see friends after Christmas.

2018 and is going to be our biggest, most exciting year to date and there are a few things that are changing…..

firstly, there are more classes, walks and choices! So if you are interested in starting to Nordic Walk there are taster sessions, Learn Tos and Fast Track Learn Tos to set you on your way. There will be a longer walk on the LAST Sunday in every month and this is included for monthly members. There is a trip to Stratford in May and a visit from Mercian Nordic Walking in August. Many more things in the pipeline too.

There is going to be an increase in the charges for walks from the beginning of January. We have not increased the charges since we started Nordic Walking Saddleworth in 2014! So to bring us in line with the national average for walk charges it will now be £7 per walk if you pay as you go. There will be no increase in the monthly membership of £25.

In the January Newsletter we will be outlining all the advantages of being a monthly member and there are some very exciting additions to the present package. Do keep your eyes peeled for this as we are looking at giving members some really great offers and extras that go way beyond your normal walks and classes.

Finally…if you are stuck for what to buy a loved one, why not buy them the gift of health and happiness. Gift vouchers available from Nordic Walking Saddleworth – only £25 for Learn To courses and a variety of other choices too.

So lots to look forward to and let’s hope 2018 will be a nordiculous year for us all!
