I started Nordic walking as means of helping to improve and maintain my physical fitness and whilst there is no question that it offers those benefits it has also proven a fantastic means of exploring the area in which we live and doing so with a fantastic group of like-minded people.

 For me Nordic walking has acted as a springboard, giving me the confidence to build on the skills and improved fitness. I was fortunate enough to take part in Nordic Walking UK’s first Nordic walking marathon in Purbeck and in training for that undertook both the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge  & (the lesser known) Yorkshire square walk.
